Your font stops at Z

Almost every pixel font ships with A–Z, a–z, digits and punctuation. The moment your game is read in French, Spanish, Polish or Turkish, the text breaks: Ação, Čeština, München, Łódź.

FontQuill fixes that in about a minute, and it never touches your original sheet.

What it does

Drop a font sheet (PNG) or a font file (.ttf, .otf, .woff). FontQuill finds every glyph, measures it, works out the baseline, and writes a bitmap font your engine can read.

Then it builds the accented characters your sheet never had — drawn from the ink of your own letters, so they match the style instead of looking bolted on. An É is your E with an acute above it. A Ç is your C plus a cedilla at your font's own weight. Nothing is invented.

Twelve language packs: Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Nordic, Polish, Czech, Turkish, Romanian, Hungarian, Baltic. From a plain A–Z sheet that is 134 new characters, none of them drawn by hand.

What you get

An atlas PNG and its AngelCode .fnt, zipped and ready to drop into your project

A real .ttf — every pixel becomes a square in the outline, so the shapes are identical, but now the font works anywhere a font works: Unity, a Godot menu, a web page, a document, your design tool. It is also what you need if you want to sell the font you drew.

The atlas alone as a PNG, or the .fnt as text, when you only want one half

Works with

Godot 4, LÖVE, Phaser, GameMaker, MonoGame, libGDX, Unity — anything that reads the AngelCode .fnt format, and anything that reads a TrueType font. The Help panel inside the tool gives the loading code for each, and the two settings that decide whether it looks right.

How it works

Drop your sheet. It is sliced automatically, or on a fixed grid when the letters touch or sit in cells.

Tell it the reading order — or click a box under the sheet and type the letter straight in. Empty cells are skipped on their own.

Pick your languages, read the preview line, export.

Honest limits

ß has to be drawn by hand. No accent or rotation makes it out of another letter.

The dot of an i or a j is only removed when it stands clear of the stem. When it touches, the tool tells you instead of guessing.

Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek and Arabic are out of scope. Building accents only makes sense for the Latin alphabet.

A pixel font is only crisp at its design size and its multiples. FontQuill gives you the number when it saves.

Requirements

One HTML file. No installer, no account, no dependency — double-click it and it opens. Everything runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded anywhere, and it works with no connection at all. Tested on Chrome, Edge and Firefox. On macOS, open it in Chrome or Firefox — Safari has not been tested.

Licence

What you make with FontQuill is yours, and the tool claims nothing on it. Whether you may redistribute or sell a font depends on the licence of the sheet you started from, not on this tool.
